Splash (formerly A Child's Right)

Splash began working with the Somaly Mam Foundation in 2009. They installed water purification systems in all three Somaly Mam sites, ensuring that the water the girls drink, cook with, and use for washing is safe and clean. They also provided a central area for the staff and girls to access water and fill 20-liter jugs to be used around each site. In addition, Splash provides 10 years of spare parts, maintenance, oversight, and regular monitoring and evaluation (such as water quality testing) to ensure that clean water continues to flow. They are working on ways to help us take over ownership of each water system by 2019. It is incredible to see the impact that clean water has on each girls' recovery: safe drinking water to ensure stable health, food cleaned and prepared with potable water to reduce illness, and a steady supply of clean water for bathing.
